Save the Date – State Rally to Fund the Fund!

In 2015, many of you gathered at the State House to draw attention to a lack of funding for addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery in the State Budget.  You sported t-shirts with the number 321 on the front to represent the lives lost to overdoses in NH in 2014.

In 2017, I’m afraid to say that the fight is not over.  In 2016, we lost 478 Granite Staters to overdoses. Convincing our legislators to use state liquor profits to fund necessary prevention, treatment, and recovery measures remains an uphill battle. Just this morning, the Division III Finance Committee in the House voted to suspend the statute that guarantees this crucial Alcohol Fund money is used to address substance use in New Hampshire.

On April 6th, 2017, New Futures advocates will once again be gathering at the New Hampshire State House to fight for a budget that fully funds the New Hampshire Alcohol Fund at 5%.  Once again, we need your help to rally for the resources that people with substance use disorders need and deserve.
